CurioCity is an ultimate guide to exploring new cities, providing recommendations, itineraries, navigation, and reviews to help make the most out of your visit, all within our user-friendly app. Our objective is to address the confusion and stress that comes when visiting an unfamiliar city.

This project helped me to think both critically and creatively—deepening my understanding of user-centered design and strengthening my ability to solve problems.

Roles & Responsibility

This project was a 4 person group project for a class. Equal amount of work was divided amongst us.
We were tasked with building out only one user task flow. Our user task is for them to sign in, search for restaurants, book a reservation, and add it to their itinerary.

One app does it all

After conducting a comprehensive SWOT analysis of leading travel apps, we discovered that there is no single app that combines all of their features, so we decided to use the best features and implement them into one platform, ensuring users can fulfill all of their needs in a single user-friendly application.

Problem

Getting to know their college town/city beyond their campus
Personalized recommendations for teens/people in their 20s

Solution Statement

Curating their interests in a personalized onboarding process to provide specific activities, sights, restaurant, stores, concerts, ect for their needs

Problem

How to help travelers see local, authentic spots, while giving them all information surrounding age restrictions, hidden fees, and realistic images of the customer experience.

Create space for users to input specifc desires for trips and provide area for their age and more so that all results will be filtered options.

User experience difficulty finding the recently added event to the itinerary.
Users experienced confusions with if they booked a reservation or just added it to the itinerary.
Users experienced confusions with what their task was of searching for a restaurant.
Users questioned where are the prices for menu items.
Users struggled to read certain words on the wire-fram due to text size.
Users liked the color scheme and visual design

Going forward I would love to finish building out this idea:

Pricing of an attraction or restaurant for the traveler to stay within their budget (sort by price)
Allow users buy tickets within the app
Based on the personalization onboarding process the app would generate suggested itineraries.
Include everything in the app such as hotels, flights, and rental cars.
Interactions with other users like a social media app, follow other users on the app, create their own recommendation page
